Building BurnSure, one verified step at a time.

BurnSure is under active development. This page provides an overview of established functionality, experimental work and the project's broader direction.

The initial foundation.

The first MVP established the central disc-burning workflow, including:

• Project preparation.

• UDF 2.60 image creation.

• Optical writing through cdrskin/libburn.

• SHA-256 verification.

• Dry-run functionality.

• Graphical and command-line interfaces.

• Media inspection and diagnostic logging.

Experimental multisession development.

Current development expands BurnSure with appendable-disc capabilities, cumulative content handling, stricter session checks and improvements to post-write verification recovery.

Multisession remains an experimental area of the project until the applicable release has completed acceptance.

Improving the verification experience.

Ongoing work includes clearer operation states, more dependable verification recovery, improved diagnostics and better feedback when optical hardware requires additional interaction.

v0.2.0a5 recovery and diagnostic export are development work. The relevant pull requests remain draft; no public release date has been announced.

What comes next?

The broader direction includes continued usability improvements, additional compatibility validation, refinement of error handling and a more polished experience for users who prefer a graphical interface.

Functionality and release timing are determined by implementation and testing progress.
